Went shopping in Santee, and it was a nice, bright, warm, sunny day.

The gloom didn't lift in San Pasqual Valley until around 3PM, but at least it was comfortable and in the 70s outside. Actually great weather for working outside.

Still, it's MUCH better that what we dealt with in the western SF Bay Area (South San Francisco) for most of our lives. Foggy, wet, windy and cold (in the 50s) from late April until mid-September. Couldn't do anything outside without a jacket. In summer. Ridiculous.

This is like paradise compared to that.

Do I sound grateful? You have no idea.

Noon time and the sun is barely starting to peek through the clouds in zone #9.

I live 4 miles from La Jolla shores in zone 4. During May and June it typically gets sunny around 10am. So far this year it's until taken 2-3PM for the gray skies to burn off. Zone 4 is my preference where its a great temperature year around. I'd stick to west of the 805 so it doesn't get too hot in the summer.

I grew up in the Bay Area too, but in far eastern Walnut Creek. I hated SF weather -- windy, cold, cloudy summers. But Walnut Creek weather was similar to Poway, sunny and hot for months on end. Summers were spent in the pool. So living inland here doesn't really seem bad to me at all. We left our house this afternoon with some warm sunshine, now in Oceanside, and it's sooo gloomy and chilly. Hate it.

Our neighborhood in Scripps Ranch was damp this morning, but I think it's just the marine layer/fog. Gloomy today though, and not very warm. Sadly, our swim season can't start without sun, bc our pool is still way too cold. Almost June -- this is a late season and will be a short one. Some years, we were swimming in early April.

Rain last night just east of I-15. Gloomy all day. And cold--back to the poofy jacket...
