Don't knock it until you try it. The woman I was referring to can hear her alarm clock. It's right next to her bed. I know because on occasion I sleep in the same bed.

From my perspective late 40's is not an old person (unless you are awfully young) and yes, women are fertile in their forties. Given the rate of sexual activity you report, one should not be surprised by the pregnancy if it turns out they are not using birth control.

While it's not old, it is a bit much for a first time parent. I personally couldn't imagine being in my 60s when the kid graduates college, the father probably near 70. I enjoyed having a younger mother and am glad she didn't have me at 45! And while fertile, the risk of birth defects goes up after 35, never mind 45!

Just like the woman on 18..no wait 19 kids and counting, Mrs. Duggar, their latest spawn was born premature. She's in her early 40s. They don't seem to realize that each additional kid she has is going to have a higher risk for birth defects. I guarantee that when she's on her 20th or 21st, she's going to finally have one that's got Down Syndrome. Maybe then she'll realize that 20 kids isn't a "gift from God".

Ugh, that woman is a terrible human being. She should be thankful for all the healthy kids she has and stop reproducing at this age! The kids are the ones that will suffer.

She considers them ALL a gift from god, no matter what. At least the oldest son that got married has some sense. He and his wife only have one, and I'm sure that they'll have more, but maybe wait a couple of years (or more) between them.

They only have one, but they've only been married for 1-2 years. They're right on track to have as many as Mrs. Duggar.
The way I see it, they're like cockroaches. The mom has 19 kids, which are each going to have 5-20 kids each, etc. etc. After a few generations, the burden they will put on this planet will start to be noticeable.

That's true, but he didn't get her pregnant right away after their daughter was born. Apparently, Michelle Duggar doesn't know when to stop. I just wonder when she's going to announce that she's expecting #20.
