Sounds successful to me.
Most of that cash is from Venture Capitalists. It's barely breaking even and it's going to turn into Myspace the second the newest "cool site" comes into play. Not even talking about the fact it's trading in the 100s of PE. What a bargain.

Uh, no, dude. That was back when they first started. They have been profitable for many years. Their revenue comes from advertising. Read my last reply.

As far as SJSU:

Engineering College receives Top Tier rankings in 2015 U.S. News & World Report
https://engineering.sjsu.edu/news-an...s-world-report

Again, highly successful companies and great institutions make Silicon Valley a great region.

What part of "PE ratio in the hundreds" do you not understand? It's a pets.com waiting to happen.
SJSU is only good if you're cheap like me or if you're slow and have bad grades. No one else gives it a thought

Lmao Mark Zuckerberg's net worth proves you wrong. Facebook is very stable and isn't going away anytime soon.
Their stock is higher than Ford, for example.

Sjsu is a descent school but it does not rate with the great schools

The article make specific caveats.MOST IMPORTANTLY IT LIMITS TO USA ,EXCLUDES COLLEGES THAT DO NOT OFFER DOCTORAL DEGREES AND ONLY RANKS ONE MAJOR.

"SJSU’s computer engineering program was ranked first in the nation among public engineering programs offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees and second nationally among all public and private colleges who do not offer doctorate degrees."

The great schools do not require such caveats.
Places like MIT,Cambridge ,cal tech ,eth Zurich,Stanford ,Tsinghau,Oxford ,the Lausanne,Seoul university and others of this ilk are great.

Well, that's all I'm saying. It is a very good engineering school, one of many excellent institutions here in Silicon Valley.

What Part of "their PE ratio" is 27 do you not understand. It is high, but it is hardly in the hundreds. In 2015, FB generated $6 billion in cash.

Amazing how little people know about topics they are trying to argue so adamantly.

SJSU is an "excellent" engineering school? If so, then what adjectives apply to Stanford, MIT, Berkeley, etc?
"Stupendously awesomely amazing mega-mondo-magnificentissimo?"

SJSU is fine for a CSU, but let's be real here.

It's so tiring to hear people either over inflating or demonizing the CSUs these days. They are what they are and people need to learn the truth, or keep their mouths shut since they don't know what they're talking about.

Eh, well, the mission of SJSU is more about preparing people for a job, as opposed to places like Stanford. Stanford not only offers bachelor degrees that are useful in industry, but is also a scientific research facility and a medical center.

Of course it is correct that Stanford -- which is definitely an example of a world renowned institution here in Silicon Valley -- is on a higher stratum than SJSU. But SJSU has a different mission, and it performs that mission very well.
