Even considered turning my heater on this AM because the house was 68.

I'm going to die come winter!
If you are used to NYC winters you will be fine here. We are originally from Michigan so are used to both the intense-muggy-want-to-kill-yourself-so-it-stops humidity/heat of summer and the -10 in the winter, so we are pretty comfortable all year long. I can literally count on my fingers the amount of times we have turned our heat on in the last 2 years and we don't have to worry about air. Though we did have more sun this summer that I was happy with, but generally a fan in the window does the trick. Especially at night! That was always the worst in MI, you want to sleep so bad and its so hot and sticky, even with the AC. Here the nights are cool enough the fan does the trick.

I almost would prefer it to be cold and drizzly compared to the muggy and hot-cloudy summer we are having this year.

Hopefully, this horrible Summer will result in a sunny, drier Autumn. If it is sunny throughout October, that would be great, as I love hiking in the mountains with the changing color trees, something you don't always have the luxury to do, as sometimes early Autumn can have a lot of heavy rain, like late Spring, and not be very good time to hike.
I will admit, I have been disenchanted with how muggy it has been. When I was up here a few summers ago, it was warm but dry. This year it feels like San Diego! I am looking forward to it cooling off though.

Actually this usually happens when it's warmer outside. When it's cooler you have better visibility. It has nothing to do with the cloud cover.
I agree. I've been here all of the month of August and it's been sunnier (and warmer) than where I moved from most recently.

One advice - move somewhere else where it is not hot, cloudy and muggy.

Typical Seattle summer runs from July-September, if we are lucky (like this year) then summer may start in the middle of June, and run a couple weeks into October. Outside that span of 3-4 months the weather here is absolutely dreadful. It will be overcast/cold/drizzling the rest of the year.

On the plus side, temperatures are pretty mild throughout the year. You rarely ever get the extremes. The temperature rarely falls below 32 F and rarely goes above 80 F. Summers are very comfortable and rarely muggy/humid like it was yesterday.

Warm summer rains? Thunder and lightning in Seattle?
This is New Jersey weather. Still, if you have to rain, might as well do it now. Then make it a dry winter.
