Doesn't the 73 run up 15th? The 71, 72 and 73 all used to go to the UW and I don't recall that changing recently.

QFC and Safeway are common grocery stores here. There's also a Fred Meyer in that area.

The 73 goes up 15th, right. That's a long walk from that apartment. And I'm not sure if it goes as far as 125th, but probably. A closer bus might be on Lake City Way. That would be closer.

I guess this depends on how far the OP thinks he could stand walking in the rain. I grew up here and have never driven so walking a mile in the rain to a bus is no big deal

As for the safety of the general area for walking, I lived in Northgate for around one year and was never creeped out or scared while walking in Northgate or Lake City. Most of the crime I witnessed was around the Northgate Transit Center.

Well that sucks. I don't feel like walking all that way every single day, so where would the nearest park and ride be at?

You can find P&R info at Home Page of Metro Transit - We'll Get You There.

If you haven't already done so, you may want to try using the Trip Planner on that site to check the bus options for the apartments and P&Rs you are considering. It'll show you how far you have to walk, trip time, etc. The apartment you listed may not be that bad, but if you want a bus to literally stop right outside your building, those kind of apartments may be hard to come by.

I used to live in Bellevue and work at UW. It wasn't a huge issue for me. I love the Bellevue area. Initially I parked at one of the structures UW designates for employees and there is an hourly shuttle (or half hourly) that picks you up. Eventually when I didn't need my car anymore, I drove or walked to the park and ride and took the bus. UW provides a discounted bus sticker. Traffic and such was never an issue for me at the time because the bus always was in the carpool lane to get there and to get home. We lived in a 2br/2ba condo for $1100 (initially $995 befor renewing). I loved the neighborhood because I am more of a suburbs type of girl. You can bike to a nice little park in Renton on the trails there. I like the location there and if I ever decide to relocate again in my old age, I would definitely move back there!

Problem I have with doing Bellevue is getting stuck paying a toll when I don't use the bus or having to go down and merge on to 90 ans having to drive farther to get up to the UW area or northern Seattle. I dunno, for being a small town Montana boy, it's best if I keep things simple and close for awhile, I'm already stressed to capacity with moving to such a huge city and having to start all over on my way of living and thinking which does not help my OCD at all

True! Tolling the bridge ruins it for everyone. How about a studio?

U-DISTRICT! large studios on the AVE avlb AUGUST 1st! view monday 11am

Another area I liked is Wallingford/Fremont area. It's a bit quirky. Near the Fremont troll.

A bit too small for my needs, it's a bit too far away from the UW and I'm willing to pay more for something nicer. I've been in a bit of a dump apt complex for 8 years here In Montana, so I wanna reward myself with something nicer to celebrate my first big move, but thanks for suggestion.
