A close friend of mine from circa 1986 through the mid nineties, his step father owned and ran that place.

Albruzzi's. I think his stepdad's name was Nick. He died several years ago after his business closed down. I am pretty sure he had to close it down because they tore down the building.

Wasn't there some coffee shop/diner called "The Clock" on Olive that had to close down when they built the bus tunnel. I remember the guy that ran that coffee shop dropped dead of a heart attack right after having to close down because they were demolishing the building. I cannot remember if that was the name. Or maybe it was "The Owl" and it had a big clock outside. Anyone remember?

When I first came to seattle in the very early 70's- Pike st. was loaded -door to door with taverns- The Wyoming , etc.(help me remember some of the names). In addition to Canton Gardens and Abbruzzi's , I can also remember B & B deli (great sandwiches) - another restaurant called the Gay 90's or the Gay 90's room that had suprisingly good foood and a very decent bar, and a very decent mexican restaurant near the lower end of Pike st.(name escapes me)- Also anyone reemeber Yesteryear's in Edmonds or the Hungry Turtle on the lake; The Cove on the pier?

Of course! Stuart Anderson's on Elliott Avenue, and Brasserie Pittsbourgh in Pioneer Square. I know I've been to Das Gasthaus, but can't picture it. Pioneer Square?
About Abruzzi's: Nick's ex wife has taken the name ,the recipes, and some old photos, and started another pizzeria in Normandy park called Abruzzi's. She's a real character, and the pizza is pretty much the same as it always was. Good.
Pizza in Seattle in the 1970's was pretty bad. Vince's was good and so was Abruzzi's, but they were about it. Lots of people liked ( and still like) Northlake Pizza, but I never understood their appeal.

Can't say I remember the Cove, but I remember the Smuggler at Pier 70, which also housed the original Wet Whisker coffee which later became Stewart brothers and later became SBC.
