Is it in what is now Elliot's. I think Elliot's Oyster house has been around for almost 30 years so that is really going back.

Yes. 30 + yrs. (not really all that far back). I remember the GREAT Seattle years from about 1969 to 1975. These were the best. (except with the years of 58-61 planning the fair and etc.,which i did not see. (regretabally.).

Yes. Oly beer was often dissed as "pisswater", but it was my grandfather's favorite. Rainier had the coolest TV ads.

I'm new here on this forum. Lived Maple Valley/Skyway/Renton/Kent area '57 to '98. Used to party on Hendrix's grave (walking distance from my home), cruised the loop (ever stop at Dag's to see a Hemi 'Cuda?), graduated from Hazen, and worked at Boeing for years. Currently living in Taiwan.

Seattle was a grittier place then. And that's not a bad thing. I remember there was a place near Abruzzi's where there were scantily clad women who danced in the window of a business and knocked on the glass to try to lure you in. I never went in.
Anybody remember Ernie Steele's or Andy's on Broadway. If you looked up " greasy spoon" in the dictionary, you'd probably see a picture of one of those places. Ernie Steele's had an awesome old mural on the wall. It's now Julia's, and I have no idea if the mural is still there, but I'm sure the food's a little better.
