I've noticed the portions getting smaller in most restaurants and a price hike, which is aggrivating, as I'd rather get a good sized portion....and pay a little more....but we feel out here, the prices are way out of line...I mean, how much does pasta cost? We only have an Olive Garden and the portions are much smaller, same for most restaurants which you can kind of justify, but as far as Olive Garden, no, pasta surely doesn't cost that much and I love to take food hom and make it the next day...

Oh well...

And in your scenario, the person 220# plus is the person really in need of the small portion.
You have no idea what frame that is on. A 6'-5" man will be lightweight at 220 while a 5'-0" female will be obese.

Good to know Apparently humans come in your size only.

Threads like this illustrate the incredible expectations and challenges restaurant owners face.

Well people like getting a bang for their buck and raisin prices on coffee and sodas are ridiculous plus now charging for sides is a rip, and why people pay it is beyond my comprehension. If they didn’t prices would come down, but that’s simply my thoughts on the subject.

Actually a 6'5" man weighing 220 lbs would be overweight. Normal healthy weight would be about 160 - 200. A man would have to be at least 6'7" to be healthy at that weight.

Maybe in Ethiopia. (I guess 6'-5 220lb Michael Jordan was overweight.)

No anywhere. 6'5" 220 lbs = 26.1 BMI. That is medically overweight. This is why so many Americans are overweight. Not only do Americans have unreasonable expectations for serving sizes, but also unreasonable expectations for healthy body weight.

Even at 6'5" they wouldn't be lightweight. They still won't need the larger portion. I'm 6'3" and do not.

He was 6'6" and lighter than 220# in his playing days. Almost no one has the physique of a professional athlete, nor the caloric needs.

Still doesn't affect the point that ideal weight is based on height so nobody can say that someone 220# needs to eat less with knowing anything else about them. It remains a fact that a larger person will require more calories.
