But my question still goes unanswered. Will the NAACP go along with that? You want the answer? NO! And therein lies the problem with this whole situation. The NAACP wants the Confederate Flag erased from history. They want it GONE forever! There is no negioatiating with them.
Sorry, but the flag is not the problem here. The flag is a part of our history. The problem is that if it doesn't fit the agenda of the NAACP, they will cry like a baby that just had it's sucker stolen.
Yes the flag is part of our history; this is why it rightfully belongs here: Home
Could someone please explain to me why they couldn't host when USC-Aiken and the Convocation Center in Aiken have hosted the Men's Division II Southeast Regional 2 years in a row? What about the baseball regionals at USC, Clemson, and even Coastal?

Merit based sites are still allowed. Predetermined ones are not.
Everyone knows where the flag belongs. They don't have to think about it. The real answer tells itself to our consciences. I was only saying that I had thought of the spot on the interior of the capitol grounds, contingent on a fantasy agreement on all sides, the NAACP included, that it would be a better location than on the front lawn of the state capitol and on the "front lawn" of the state capital. It would be another break in the stalemate, the first break having resulted in the flag coming off the capitol dome and down to the grounds, albeit in the faces of the offended to the delight of the flag lovers.

Because the "offended" wouldn't negotiate. They still won't. It's their way or the highway.
IMO from atop the dome to the lawn "in yo face" isn't much of a compromise and the flag lovers knew that.
The only alternative offered was "Get rid of it completely." When you can't realistically negotiate, you get what you get. If the NCAA would have accepted an offer to move the monument to another site on the grounds and place the flag there, I'm betting it would have happened by now.
I'm glad somebody recognizes that. So much lost because something so stupid can't be put somewhere else. I think people should think before they do something. Especially if hurts money coming to the state. I bet we could have been the 19th largest state right now by population, and our infrastructure could have been better off.
But I'm pretty sure it's not coming down anytime soon. I wish they would take a state wide vote from the citizens instead of the dumb republicans who still want it there.
Just so you know the facts, it was a bi-partisan compromise led by then Gov. Jim Hodges (D) that led to the flag being placed where it is now. But don't let the facts get in the way of your arguement.
Email Glenn McConnell. The flag is his baby. Tell him to stick on his Hunley.
Oh Lord, and that clown is very close to being named president of the College of Charleston. God help us
