The village is relatively affluent even without the college. Most of the people that worked there likely lived in the Eastern suburbs of Syracuse and surrounding towns as well. I think the town will be fine even without the college and will likely become another type of institution in the near future.
Also, there is some other industry in the community like Marquardt Switches and Knowles Capacitors, among others. Some residents may also work at other local colleges in/around Syracuse or institutions like SUNY-Morrisville or Colgate University. So, I don't think it would change too much, especially given that the college only had about 700 students.
