speaking of fuel, last week I talked to a friend who farms in NW Minnesota.

He stated in years back he needed $15,000 to cover his spring expense (fuel, seed, fertilizer)

This year he stated he needs $15,000 to just fill his fuel storage tanks this spring.

Good morning to TN friends...gas here in Middle of Missouri: regular...$3.29. We are talking rural area...no public transportation. At least 20 mile round trip just to grocery store, etc. 160 mile round trip to 'big' cities.

I have sympathy for independent truckers.
I read a news story the other day that says the military has gone green and won some environmental award. They are generating power from trash in Iraq so they don't need as many oil tankers.

Here I found the story:

FOXNews.com - U.S. Armed Forces Go Eco-Friendly - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News

Now trash, we've got a lot of that.

At this point I think my next car will be a Prius or an Insight. Can't complain about 60 mpg. Gas is out of control. I was traveling in Amherst, OH last week and saw the price jump from $3.13 one morning to $3.29 the very same afternoon! Yet we saw fit to shut down the Alaskan pipeline. Go figure.

So one month ago, when we were in Cookeville, the highest price I saw for gas was $3.17. Wondering what it is today???

That same week, when we returned to CA, the price here was $3.56 (up about .10 in the week we were gone). Just yesterday I went to fill up and paid $3.71 at Costco, although I did see it as high as $3.83!

heathdawn-------I bought a new (2007) Toyota Camry in August.

manual transmission ( quite rare, but I found one)

I filled up last night at $3.23 and did the math----35.3 mpg on my last tankfull.

The car is comfortable and rides nice on long trips.

(course it can't do what your Expedition could )
