If you follow the reasoning of the news media and the sheriff, then the books he read does the same thing.
You are putting a lot of words into the Sheriffs mouth

My point is that the media and the Sheriffs criticism of talk radio, Sarah Palin, the Tea Party, etc, regarding this matter is way off base. Maybe if the shooter was regular listener, Sarah Palin supporter, Tea Party member--maybe then there would be a valid arguement. But that's not the case. There is no such connection. The media and the Sheriff spouted off before they knew anything, and they acted on assuptions that turned out to be wrong.
In my opinion, the Sheriff opened his mouth prematurely, acted irresponsibly, and engaged in the rhetoric he claimed to be against.
He should apologize.

That's still not what he said

This is what he said:
"When you look at unbalanced people, how they respond to the vitriol that comes out of certain mouths about tearing down the government. The anger, the hatred, the bigotry that goes on in this country is getting to be outrageous. And unfortunately, Arizona, I think, has become sort of the capital. We have become the mecca for prejudice and bigotry."

Please explain to me what he meant if it's not what I said.
What mouth did the "vitriol" come out of that the shooter responded to? What "anger, hate and bigotry" did the shooter listen to?

He meant what he said, nothing more. Just because you take it as some kind of assault on your heroes doesn't change what he said. Perhaps the Sheriff knows more about the shooter than you or I

He made that statement before he knew anything about the shooter. I noticed you never answered my questions. I'll ask again: What mouth did the "vitriol" come out of that the shooter responded to? What "anger, hate and bigotry" did the shooter listen to?

I notice you are sticking up for the Sheriff, I guess (using your logic) that he is your hero.

Not really, I live in Cochise County, on the border, but he does deport twice as many illegals as Arpaio even without the aid of TV Cameras. He would be a good candidate to replace Frau Brewer

To bad the Safeway Store was not in the Tucson City limits. If that were the case, the wacky Sheriff wouldn't even get camera time. The Tucson Police Chief would be answering questions about the investigation, and not assaulting fine people of Arizona with his Non Facts.

You still didn't answer my questions.

Are we certain he did not know anything about the shooter, Ritchie?

There are rumblings that Dupnik and Loughner's mother were friends. Possibly explains why Loughner was able to be arrested so many times while never being charged?

Was Dupnik actually trying to divert attention with his finger pointing out of fear of being accused of playing favorites?
