I am confused by all this gay talk. Is Philip gay? Is Joshua? Can you be a gay homophobe? Here's something to consider- for some people, they've always been around people who are huggy/kissy kind of people, it is totally normal and acceptable to them and they're like that around other people, too. But, some people are NOT like that. They don't like others casually throwing their arms around them and stuff. They aren't used to it, and it can be sort of uncomfortable for them. It could just be the different backgrounds. Men in Europe kiss each other hello, I mean, can you see that happening here?
Anyway, they are kids, essentially, and they are just trying to find their way and become singing stars. They are all incredibly good, and there's a nice mix of styles, too.
I see it this way. The contestants know each other better than anyone watching the show other than family.
To me Joshua comes across as shy unless he is singing and Phillip is jokester.
Phillip most likely does the same thing at the idol house or tells Joshua he will hug hm or or put his arm around him on tv just to kid with him.
It's just goofing around that's what it looks like to me.
As far as either one of them being gay, I don't know what has led people to think that.
That she got the most, with Phillip projected to be leaving.
As far as the "gay thing", my guess is that Joshua is gay, but he worries about what people/fans will think even though no one probably cares. He's still young. I remember him once saying that he was looking at JLo's abs when he was singing. I didn't buy it for a minute. I think when someone is confident about their sexuality that kind of bantering that Phil was doing wouldn't bother you. Joshua comes from a very religious family, and I bet he doesn't feel comfortable being who he might be...yet.

Exactly - Philip just jokes around like that with lots of people, especially guys (Colton, Steven, Ryan). Plenty of people have speculated that Joshua is gay - I don't know if he is or he isn't - or if Philip is or isn't. What I do know is that he practically pushed Philip away from him and never eased into the joking - and that the judges noticed and seemed somewhat taken aback by that - so much so that Steven made a point to comment on it. We've seen clips of Joshua and Hollie being physically playful so he hasn't come across to me as a no-touch kinda guy...until those awkward moments (that he made awkward) with Philip last night.
I always thought P2 wasn’t a very good singer, what he brings to the table is how he changes up a song to make it his own.
When he sang You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling with Joshua, in pretty much the same manner the Rightous Brothers sang it, it exposed him for what he is, a mediocre singer. Then when he sang his last song, I actually was embarrassed for him when he tried to hit the high notes.
What really upsets me is how the judges still find ways to praise him. Randy uses the word AT LEAST, saying at least he makes the song his own. If Simon was still around, he would’ve blasted P2 for his performance(s), and maybe would’ve have even called not a very good singer.

Don't forget that there are a lot of country fans voting on AI. So if there is a country contestant, even if s/he is not the best of the bunch, s/he will get votes anyway. This is why Skylar is still there. Or why last year's finalists were both country.
I personally love country but would never vote for a country contestant I don't like (for instance Sklylar this year, or Scotty last year). Same for any other gentre I enjoy. But that's just me.

Or it could be as simple as he doesn't really like Phillip much.....
Dial Idol predicts P2 will be eliminated. Last week, D.I. accurately predicted Elise going and the week before Colton going. It looks like P2 will be packing his bags and leaving.

As much as I love him, I can understand that after his second song last night. If that's the case, I will miss him. He adds something that none of other's have. He brought sexy back.
