.
Nicky , in real-life , had a history that even writers could not dream up ; he had a sister who was
murdered . The killer got off with very little time and went to work as a cook in a restaurant in LA.
Every single day for months and months , Nicky ( Griffin ) would stand outside the restaurant,
handing out flyers telling people not to eat there because the cook was a murderer.

I can see Nicky doing something like this , can't you ?

Griffin Dunne's (Nicky) sister was Dominique Dunne, who played the older sister in Poltergeist. His father was Dominick Dunne, who became a famous crime writer after his daughter's killer didn't get the sentence he should have. Previously he'd been a television writer, but found a new calling after his family tragedy. His books and articles were excellent.

I found it funny how Beth and Randall handled Deja's news about her trip to Boston.

Spoiler
Did they really think Deja and the ugly boy weren't going to have sex? Get real! It would be even more funny (to me, anyway) if they found out it was actually their daughter who made the first move to have sex. Hey, she knew what she wanted. She didn't take that bus trip for nothing.

Totally agree with everything you said. I found their reactions to be unrealistic. But oh well, it's TV, not real life.

They werent just upset that she had sex with Malik, but that she took a bus all the way to Boston to visit him. She lied to them about where she was all weekend, saying she would be at a friend's house. How could they not be upset about that.?

Oops... you're right. I was remembering the hug she shared with her sister before she left.
I just rewatched the scene. Her sister knew what was up. They shared some of these...

Anyway, I wasn't all that thrilled with this week's show but I'm still pretty hooked on it by now.

Griffin Dunne is doing one hell of a job....his acting is brilliant....I love that they incorporated his character more...
