The problem is, and always has been, a certain percentage of people watching the show turn it into a popularity contest, instead of remembering that we are trying to find THE best singer.
Allison is LOADS more talented than Kris, but I do acknowledge she may not be as popular as him and could therefore be voted off before the top 3. At this point every season I get very frustrated with the idiots that pick looks/style over substance
I respectfully disagree that Allison is loads more talented than Kris. Kris is very good at playing the guitar and piano, is able to sing many different types of music, and has a style and personality that appeals to a larger audience.
Allison has shown only one side to her singing....rock. She's really good at that type of music, but it's getting a bit old now. And her style and "tough girl rocker" personality doesn't have a mass appeal. I think there's definitely a place for her in the music industry; I just don't think she can compare to the likes of Kris and Adam.
Nuala...thanks again for another great video link. I could watch Adam talk and sing day and night....ok I must admit this grandma thinks he is the next best thing to ice cream!
Well, when American Idol is over Canadian Idol starts here !!!! (and ends sometime in June). I, though, find American Idol more entertaining.
I also wish America had something like "America Got Talent" where there is NO restriction on age - just imagine American diamonds in the rough that are just waiting to be discovered...
Who are the judges on Canadian Idol? Anyone quite like Simon?

It's a franchise of Simon Fuller, so the formula for judges is the same here: - an ascerbic judge Zack Werner (more of angry-ascerbic than snobbishly ascerbic like Simon)
- a former singer Sass Jordan (Paula parallel)
- a black judge Farley Flex (he's softer and more forgiving than Randy)
- a "brainy guy" Jake Gold.
- Ryan Seacrest's place is filled with Ben Malroney (not sure if he's a son of the former prime minister, but looks very much it).

They should air Canadian Idol here, I would watch it. I wonder if somebody is putting online somewhere?
Quite possibly there might be someone streaming Can. Idol? Last Tuesday, it was raining and the satellite signal was interrupting for chunks of time. I found someone streaming the Idol concurrently on the Internet.
