Seems Matheson probably won't run in 2nd any more. He's saying he will run in every district but 1 and 2. I am actually hoping someone from South Davis runs, at least they would be local to me. But its odd for someone from Bountiful or SLC to represent people in Wendover, Manti or St George.

Still trying find a list of candidates for the 2nd district. There are a ton of candidates but not for the 2nd.

I'm in the 'little' populous district, 4. Interesting the SLC valley was split into 3 'big' areas. Just my thoughts.

It's not interesting, it was done to protect the ruling party. All three parts join right in Murray, dividing up the non-Mormon population equally. It's absolutely sickening the lengths they will go to protect their power. It certainly seems like their strings are being pulled by Ezra's dearest John Birch Society.

^^I guess I didn't know as much about it. Since I'm so far out, I didn't realize more exact boundries. Is 'they' Utah? I'm just a bit slow, sometimes. =) Though I do remember something on the news about districts, & the Rose Park area being split up & they were upset????? Maybe a year ago????

I read in the Tribune yesterday that Matheson has as many registered Democrats in his new district than he had his old one. Its just that he lost some neighborhoods in eastern SLC and gained areas in the rural parts and south Davis. Even in Matheson's "Democrat stronghold" of District 2, it was still 60/40 Republican. This is Utah, its redder than Texas. Plus whats this dividing up the non-Mormons. Isn't Matheson LDS?

I just wish they wouldn't have ended it with the closed-door maps. I mean they were barely different than they were the day before.

He may be a baptized member of record, but I'm almost certain he is non-practicing.
