Big snow event happening here. Visibility down to 1SM

"Niagara Falls - Welland - Southern Niagara Region continued

Snow squalls with near zero visibility today.

Snow squalls have developed in the strong and gusty west to southwest flow off the Great Lakes. Radar indicates intense snow squall bands across the regions. Snowfall amounts will be highly variable, however up to 30 cm are possible today in areas where the snow squalls are persistent."

Weather Warnings - Environment Canada

Trees have fallen in Canada. Maybe they are weaker here

I was up at the top of the mountain today and it looked like the end of the world.

All the grass was brown and there was not a single tree with leaves, it was very quiet.

Calm before the storm on Monday, thats what i'm thinking.

The storm being (514dam, -8c 850 uppers, subzero temperatures, heavy snow and 60/70mph winds). So blizzard conditions.

It would seem that not long after our previous cold spell we are getting another one ( you know a proper one like two weeks)

The advisory was for wind chills... not winds.

True. 10-20 mph winds with gusts to 45 mph would not be considered a high wind event, though 45 mph is certainly nothing to ignore.

Snowing on my way home from work today. At this rate, if the forecast is true, the first four days of February will have been snowy days here.

Nice video. I love police chase videos. I can't even tell if they try to PIT him twice or if he just lost control on his own.

Below is a screenshot of the radar echo from the vicious thundersquall that hit here on January 31st at 4:30AM. I've never seen lightning or thunder like it in winter, unbelievable. Just drifting into a nice sleep when I was rudely awoken by a crashing of hail into the window and very close claps of thunder at 1 min intervals or so. Even the last two summers we didn't get anything of that magnitude.

Snowy year here so far.. BDR is half foot above normal snowfall to date and more snow coming in next few days...

Snowing lightly right now. Winds from the west. Should turn from the NorthEast as the coastal storm develops tomorrow.
