I wouldn't believe tutiempo stats. They sometimes say it has snowed when the temp was 15C during the day and 5C during the night, and according to tutiempo we've had 2 t-storms this year.
Helsinki averages 16 t-storm days a year.
Wow, massive difference. And you're wrong. It shows 13 thunderstorm days so far til end of August in 2013. Fact is at that particular station the averages show 13 per year.
Well I think that sums it up then. People have different preferences and can't understand the others'. End of discussion. I'll never understand why some people don't like anchovies or herring roll mops. But I'm not about to lose sleep over it.
I understand and accept other opinions. You're not into cold winters, fine. I'm not into oceanic winters, or tropical climates.
I only pointed out that "always warmer is always better" is not a universal truth. Even among people who aren't weather enthusiasts.
There is even a comment on here from somebody in Paris 'dissing' the weather in London!! lol.
I suppose you're talking about this comment of mine:

So since I live in Paris, I don't have the right to say that, imho, London has a mediocre climate? If anything, living in a similar climate makes me realistic about London's flaws. I know exactly what to expect there. For the record, I often complain about the weather in Paris. Since I don't like it here, I don't see how I would like it in London. I'm just not a fan of oceanic climates.

See? London's far from being the worst climate in my books.
And to me, I don't understand why people like mild, cloudy and drizzly weather. It's so uneventful and uninteresting.
I like drizzle because it is either the prelude to a heavy rain event, or it is "sun drizzle" - which is as close to hot, humid ambience, as my climate gets.
Assuming that somebody is a CWF based on this battle alone is pretty closed minded. Chicago is stormier, sunnier, hotter during the summer and overall more interesting than London. The cooler than ideal winter is only one determining factor. Chicago also has a longer tshirt season and a higher chance of tshirt weather during the winter months.
