Quick look I only had it on my roof. Surprising at 29°. Walking dog now and will check other spots.
I went outside around 7:30 AM. Didn't see any frost. Think I figured out the reason why. At 5 AM (coldest hourly observation) it was 28°F and dew point 21°F, some the air wasn't saturated so not much frost would be deposited. Any hardier growing plants may have escaped damage. Only had a freeze from about 3-7 AM. This is from the Chicopee station, other locations may be somewhat different.
At 7:30 AM felt very chilly and not much warmth from the sun. Was out again around 8:50 AM, felt strong warmth from the sun and not as cold. Very different from a similar day in October. Once it's summer, 9 AM is around the time the sun is strong enough that being an unshaded spot can feel hot and I may get sweaty bicycling.
It's currently 55 with light rain. The big question is: will we hit 60?
On Friday morning it got down to 38, which was a little unusual this late in the year.
Another interesting temperature statistic is our complete lack of 85+ degree days so far. The average first 85 is April 14. However, the latest is May 20, so we still have time before it becomes something too impressive.
Another record broken during this embarrassing month. Highest number of days with min temp 70F or above.
Normal: 2
Previous record: 4
This month: 12
That's quite a record smashed!
