Other than low humidity, conditions were very good for hiking. Cool breeze and not slick. I've been there after it rained, that was tough.

Very cool hike. That rock is very interesting! And the tight corridor to get to bridge. Wonder how much was carved out by humans. 23 mph huh, weird. Guess 25 would be too fast and 20 too slow. Lol

Very cool video here! Camera catches Bald Eagles getting through a snowstorm protecting the eggs in Southern PA.

Now the eggs have hatched. You can watch them live with a link to the webcam using this link but watch the video first and read story.

Eagles, along with bears and turkeys, etc are making a comeback in our state. Glad to see it. Now if only we could get our state wildlife mgmt. to admit the mountain lions have come back.

3. Montauk Daisy leafing out.

Daffodils are still around in late March? Where's the snow btw?

DST and temps in the mid-70s made for a very agreeable evening.

Lush yard.

Where are the leaves?

Spoiler

The small mountains in the background were often snowcaped in winter.

Town from above

Towards Nice and its 61°F

Towards Cannes and its 82°F (not Cannes in the photo)

That is what happens when Jan, Feb and March are -1.1C, -6C, and -2.2C respectively.

Am curious, when was the last time Paris had its coldest winter month ever on record?

1879. -12.3C. It had months more anomalous than -6C more recently though, last ones being Feb 86 and Jan 87, at -6.6C and -6.4C respectively. Feb 1956 was -8.9C.

"Still"? I haven't seen 1 pop up yet. LOL But this is when you'll start to notice a difference from here, and 30 miles across the water on Long Island. Pretty amazing difference sometimes. There is nothing sprouting or blooming here at all.

Neighbor snowpack update. Uh Oh.. it's dying! If it wasn't for the rain right now it would easily make it to April. Curious how it looks tomorrow.

Expecting light rain to change to snow after sunset. 36F dropped from 45F only 4 hrs ago.

Is that a monthly mean? -12.3c is colder than anything Amherst has recorded since 1836.
