LRFs hinting at a return to more typical conditions by the end of April. Looks like the first week of May will be a good bet for 20c.

The sea temperatures are quite a bit warmer in Baja CA sur along the Pacific coast than they are along the coast of North Africa at the same latitude. Mid 70'sF and warmer at a place like La Bocana vs 70F along the coast of Western Sahara.
South of 30°N the Mexican West Coast has warmer SSTs than the African Atlantic Coast.
From 30°N up into the Arctic Ocean, the west coast of europe has on average warmer SSTs than the American/Canadian West Coast.

Warmest day of the year for the UK as a whole today with 20.3c in Porthmadog, though London only managed 17c.

14.9C here today after 14.8C yesterday. It looks like we are going to reach the end of April without seeing 15C.

That's quite rare nowadays, but no real cause for concern: the last time we had to wait that long was in 2006, which finished up having the warmest July and September on record (at the time 2006 was also the warmest year on record) and the most days above 20C (56).

Odd to see how the further south in Morocco the colder the water gets like in Agadir. I'd take the beaches any day in Mexico over North Africa though.

You definitely have a corner of the world you defend always on this forum climate wise I'm talking. I would say it is Europe and North Africa lol.

You never seem at all interested in the warmer climates in North America. Remember, Mexico is huge and has thousands of miles of tropical beaches. Around 9,000km's. Mexico does not get the blasts from the Arctic once you get deep into their tropical territory. The Yucatan is marvelous and amazing with such white sand beaches and clear blue water that is very warm all year round. Far warmer than the Canary Islands. You should skip the Canaries one of these years and go to Mexico. Americans consider that their backyard too, like you Germans and the Med. Although I think more Americans consider the Carib more of their backyard than Mexico at least in the eastern US.

13.7C is the current highest temp in April so far here. Average high is 9.4C, so talk about stability... in one of the most unstable months of the year.

The Canary cold current almost touches the Moroccan coast, warm water goes north from the Azores, cold water south.

In winter but not in summer. No where in western Europe sees ssts in the mid 80 s in summer. Last summer Wilmington at 34 degrees north had water temps of 89 degrees.

Italy had SST's in the mid-high 80'sF last summer, and around the Greek islands average 80+F in mid summer. Cyprus mid 80's.

Oh I know the med can get pretty hot in parts. He was talking about western Europe though, they don't have warm water a in the summer. Even some places in the med have cool water temps in summer. Also the area in the eastern us and gulf that sees 80s is greater than the one in the med.
