Serious question. Do you use a fan? What is on your bed, just a sheet?
Yup. A fan or fans and a sheet. You learn to fall asleep without even a sheet on, which feels weird at first for most people. When my air handler was worn out, it wouldn't do better than 80 at night. I had the ceiling fan and an oscillating fan. That was a miserable summer. Actually worse in the day. You end up falling asleep due to fatigue no matter how hot it is.

She thinks that the reason I can't handle it is because I'm unhealthy despite the fact that I'm lean and in tremendous shape for a guy my age. I've had company come over in the summer that will literally leave after a few minutes because they can't even handle being in the house, much less sleeping in it.

Is my wife the strange one here? Trying to sleep in 90 degree heat in my bedroom just seem awful to me, and like I said, I love hot weather.

Sounds like hormones - lack of. Her thermostat is on the fritz. I don't know how old you both are but it is well known that older people tend to feel cold all the time. Not the case with you I see.

For me I set my A/C to 66.

Ok so just a sheet. That is probably my issue. I am used to the weight of the comforter. I switch out to a very light one in the summer, but I can't seem to kick that habit

I can fall asleep in +72 temps with a fan, I just can't stay asleep!

TStat set to 68F at night. Room actually gets to 67
65-67 since thermostat is in hallway.

I can't fall asleep with the room above 72 and if I do I end up waking up with migraines

Same here. It's worth the extra $$ to be comfortable.

During the day I don't mind the rooms around 75 but it never gets above 80. AC would work to hard later on.

(Nice to see you more active in the weather forum lately Mike)

I live in the PNW where it cools off at night. I open all the windows at bedtime, and in the morning it is 64-68 in the house, depending on outside temp. The attic vent fan comes on at 85 degrees up there. AC is set at 74, and usually comes on about 4 PM on a 100 degree day and runs 10 minutes out of every half hour until 9 PM.

Yeah, I have seriously upgraded the energy efficiency of my home. Last month the electric bill was $91.91, and that's my only utility bill.

There is no need for covers in the summer. PJs are optional as well. The warmest thing I have to worry about are my cats wanting to snuggle. One likes to sleep by my face, another likes to curl up behind my knees, and the third likes to lay across my feet.

71 when I'm home. 76 when I'm at work.

I pay what it costs to be comfortable.

Texas. Summer. 'nuff said.

She's always been like this. Even in her 20's when we met. She's competes in cross-fit, so she's pretty thin and has super low body fat. (5'7" 120lbs). We both wear sweatshirts in the summer if we go out because of how cold the AC is in most places, but for me it's just a comfort thing. For her, she literally can't be in some place like a supermarket or restaurant in the summer without a sweatshirt. She'll shiver the entire time.

LOL I am like 'get off me' in the summer. I don't need any body heat!
