Nice shots, red.ochre. Is this that newer "festival" event that sorta-kinda took over the regatta or something new?
Seems to not be a ton of folks looking over the booths in the last shot. Was this taken earlier in the day, ?
Sounds right. "Regatta" was morphing when I moved here in '07. It's called "FestivAll" now. Smoke on the Water-Charleston Chili Cook-Off, was last weekend (or a week ago). Booth shots were this Sunday at low tide for the crowds so I could get the street scenes, but it was a decent turnout on the weekends, rough guess, twenty thousand.
Just don't post an excessive amount at one time as it will bog down the thread. ;-)
I reread the posting requests:
opps, forgot about that 5 pics per post section. Will not occur again!
Dialup? Even here in Beverly, located 65.8 miles from modern civilization, has broadband.

My Sister lives just outside of Charleston and she still has dialup.
Though it's more of her just being "duh" than it not being available in her area (which it is). Still, a FEW people still do use it, so that's why there is the posting guidelines for pics.
are you old enough to remember the bread billboard by the bridge in downtown Elkins? I think there was a girl swinging on it. Musta been there for 20+ years, another landmark destroyed.
I don't remember it... hmm I'm 22 years old, so it may have been around when I was younger or something and just never noticed it. But your pictures of Bemis, wow! During the summer months we have our Sunday family dinners at our house up there. My grandpa also owns the store/bar there. They call the road between Bemis and Beverly "the old county road" with the "switchbacks".
