In 1992 I lived in Superior, Wisconsin, just across the border from the DECC in Duluth where the Damn Yankees were playing a concert. One of my coworkers explained that the night before he had gotten a call from Nugent, who had gotten his name from the Boone & Crockett registry -- my coworker had several trophy whitetail racks to his credit. Nugent wanted this individual to take him out hunting while he was in town for the concert.

My coworker declined, and expressed disgust that Nugent found any sport in just dropping in and being led to a stand, without having to scout out a location, study local game trails and wind trends, and all the other little things involved in a serious, successful hunt.

Apparently, Nugent enjoyed this point-and-shoot 'hunting' while touring.

I'll tell ya, those right-wing fanatics have little to no respect for women.
Susceptible as I am to vivid dreams, I believe I will pass on that, thanks. It would wreck my sleep for weeks.

Wow. That is seriously creepy. Good on your coworker for telling him no.

Cue Ray saying that such a hunt is legal and therefore logically its fine, and your coworker was being overly emotional in choosing to deny him

I am no fan of Nugent's, never was. But, I find it interesting that this is the same network that took Bill Maher's filthy mouth with a grain of salt.

'However, perhaps CBS ignored its own hand in provoking of Nugent when Glor suggested that Nugent was extreme. "If Mitt Romney is to win, he needs at least some of the moderate vote," Glor told Nugent. "You are many things," he continued, pausing for effect before adding "You are not moderate."

In contrast, CBS held HBO's Bill Maher in much higher regard when it deemed his op-ed so important that they read an excerpt from it on-air, back in March. In the column, Maher slammed the public for being too sensitive to criticism – even though he had repeatedly spewed obscene and hateful verbiage at conservative women.'

So Nugent may be nuts but I have no use for biased news reporting such as this, and I pay no attention to it.

The reporters get what they deserve when they pull this regardless of who it is.

I'm not sure that telling someone who has strong conservative views that they are not moderate is an insult.

Seems to me the reporter purposely provoked him to get a response. I am not fond of Nugent but I don't like what this reporter pulled.

I don't know, Pat. I think that if the reporter had wanted to provoke him he would -- and could -- have said something different. Saying that he isn't a moderate just doesn't seem so bad, and I'm not sure that Nugent has ever tried to portray himself as a moderate.

Bear-baiting is legal in Alaska. It's logically fine, not only because it's legal, but for numerous other reasons that I shouldn't have to explain.

Meanwhile, Nugent's misdemeanor is nothing compared to this one, and look at how much this guy has to pay
