Basically, I think a lot of this "complaint" about being victimized is just really the loss of ability to leverage an unearned privilege.

Common among white people who are so used to being afforded white privilege. Once the privilege is gone and they are on equal footing as everyone, they start to complain about "being discriminated".

Isn't it more the case that it's actually stronger now? Circa 2013, people would actually believe me when I talked about being mixed.

It was more vile in 2005. The animosity even reached Wikipedia. They even made a page for "IMSCF syndrome" (now deleted).

Just how many Filipinos were on Wikipedia back then anyway? I have known of Wikipedia since 2003, but I do think of myself as an early adopter.

Most seemed be to based-abroad but there was a particular vile non-Filipino editor called "Al-Andalus" who claimed be be Australian of Jewish heritage. You can still see his posts in archived section of the Talk tab

I also believe that the person who came up with the IMSCF label was Kalani Mondoy, who is half Filipino from his father's side. He used to be rabid about it back then but has seemed toned down his obsession of whatever the ethnic forgery accusation.

The. There is this thread from 2002.

https://www.voy.com/50000/141.html

I think the anti-Filipino sentiment (as regards to ancestry) has toned down with the advent of commercial testing and more studies (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4574246/).

People used to insist that 99% of Filipinos are "pure Malay" which has been proven wrong because most Filipinos register some South Asian, Chinese and some Southern European.

Some native American has also been detected among Filipinos. This isn't a case of "native Americans are from Asia" since only Filipinos get native American among people from East/Southeast Asia. https://genographic.nationalgeograph...ions-next-gen/

Also, Filipinos do have some degree of Negrito ancestry. So we're not "pure Malays" as they insist.

https://www.gnxp.com/WordPress/2018/...-lots-of-them/

The "purest" Austronesians would be the Igorots, the Kankanaeys in particular. But lowland Filipinos have some degree of mixture of Austronesian, Negrito, South Asian, Chinese and a bit of Southern European
