Obviously an exaggeration, but it sets out the way religions can expect society to give them privileges or there's trouble. Kim Davis was a testcase example,.
Not so much of an exaggeration either comrade citizen. PC has gone mad. These days companies are having to employ a certain percentage of blacks, women, gays, one-legged lesbians, disabled, Klingons etc - all in the name of PC when what should be happening is that the jobs should be going to those that are most qualified to do them, irrespective of whether they are black, women, gays, one-legged lesbians, disabled or Klingon.

I remember when the UK police were ordered to take on more black police officers because government decided, on the grounds of 'equality' that there wasn't enough of a 'balance'. The police did so, and the first thing the new officers did was to segregate themselves by forming 'The Association of Black Police Officers.' WTF!

I did see a few nuns in old town Rome a few years back and took photos with them. This was as a tourist and because one was rather good looking.
Loyola University has Sister Jean

It was May 1970 and college students across the country were protesting the United States’ invasion of Cambodia as a deeply unpopular war in Vietnam raged on. At Kent State University, the protests turned violent when the National Guard opened fire, killing four students and wounding nine others. Within days, students and faculty at Mundelein College, where Schmidt was academic dean, were camped out along Sheridan Road to protest the war.

Schmidt is now best known as the 98-year-old chaplain for Loyola University Chicago’s men’s basketball team, which has emerged as this year’s Cinderella team in the NCAA tournament.
Mundelein College which was taken over by Loyola had lots of nuns teaching when I went there in the late 1960s and early 70s. I remember the event above. The BVMs were and are unique.

That's because the Imperial Catholic Church is imploding.

The whole idea of a god is stupid and silly, and no one wants to be a priest or a nun.

Even for those who still believe, the Catholic god is abhorrent and no one wants to worship that god, not to mention more and more people find the whole idea of a pope silly and repugnant.

Because there aren't enough priests or nuns, the Church is having to import priests and nuns from Africa and South America, but it's still not enough.

Enlightened Catholics don't particularly like to be preached to by some Black guy from Africa or some Brown guy with an accent from South America.

They're leaving the Church in droves.

And their retirement system collapsed. Priests and nuns don't pay Social Security and so aren't eligible and the Imperial Catholic Church only has a retirement plan for Cardinals, but no one else. When you retire, you go live in the cloisters.

Since there aren't enough priests and nuns to care for the retired priests and nuns, the Church is having to hire and pay people to do that, which costs a lot of money, so the Church is closing down churches and selling the properties and closing down or consolidating schools and selling those properties to pay for that.

Their god isn't exactly a financial genius, and obviously lacking in omnipotence not to have foreseen this.

Very true, my old trouser -button. This example of cynical disregard of equal opportunities would, thankfully never be entertained today.

Think yourself lucky they weren't Klingon.

And you understand neither.

We have no popes; no hierarchy; no churches; no scripture; no eschatology; no saints; no relics; no shrines; no holy places; no after-life; no alternative existence; no political system; no social structure; no culture; no economic system; and no belief system.

Either you believe the nature of god to be incomprehensible and has no bearing on us, or no god exists at all.

Doesn't get any simpler than that.

No one denies religion is on the way out. There is no need for religion in 2019. Religion was needed in ancient times and now we are in modern times. Thanks for beating the dead horse again!

Exactly! The horse is dead!

BTW, this is what a world with no tradition looks like.

We are not beating the dead horse, old chum - organised religion is doing so - and it staggers up and starts bucking and kicking again. That's why we have to keep shooting it.

It is dying with no help from the atheists. Logic dictates that religion will die. The issue is: What will humans use to feed their tribalism? And the tribe requires 100% loyalty to whatever creed they have.

Or at least a level playing field for all. What won't do is the allowing of one religions' dress but not the others on the grounds that 'this is a ....ist nation'.
In the case of the Quebec law, Nuns with headgear or any other religious getup would be banned from teaching.
