Good riddance to the Braves. Summerhill and Atlanta is much better off without. Hope Cobb is enjoying their budget shortfalls.
Cobb has a budget shortfall. Meanwhile... Liberty Media reveals Braves’ revenue up 70% in quarter

If the same situation occurred in the city, I wonder if the city would be getting criticism for it?

I would absolutely be pissed if this was in the CoA.

Damn shame that Liberty Media is allowed to get away with this.

Yep. Even though it was not as bad of a deal and Reed has done amazing things with CoA's finances, I am still kind of pissed about the new Falcons Stadium too.

The City contributed $200 million from rental car taxes that by law can only be used for hospitalty-related expenditures, while Blank payed over $1.3 billion. I think the City came out pretty well in the deal.

You should be more pissed about the Philips renovation that has public money paying for 75% of the cost. At least Reed got his jersey retired by the Hawks!

"We are losing twice as much money this year due to this boondoggle of a new stadiumdevelopment, how do we spin this into a good news headline?"

Braves revenue soared 47 percent in 2017

Quote:
...When depreciation and amortization are added in, the club lost $106 million in 2017, nearly twice the $57 million figure from 2016. Liberty attributed part of the loss to higher expenses from increased stock-based compensation expense “due to an increase in the estimated value of the Braves.”
