I would love to bet H&M opens in Augusta before Greenville. I can't remember any of the recent construction projects(including the entire promenade section outside) at the mall taking much longer than the anticipated completion date. I don't know why you think the Augusta mall would take forever to build one store, and it built an entire 200k outdoor section on time.

Bass Pro announce many stores during the recession, and probably got ahead of themselves. They stopped building COMPLETELY, and just started building again. Several cities including Huntsville, Al didn't get their store either.
No, but my point is; overall there is more in Greenville.

I've agreed with this assessment since the beginning of the discussion, and have acknowledge metro Greenville is bigger. I just don't understand why you felt the need to defend Greenville simply because I said H&M had zero existing locations in South Carolina.

You said Augusta had things not in the SC metros. While it could be true to a small extent, it isn't the big picture. Overall there are more options in the SC metros.

Didn't they build a new Belk in Augusta about a year or so ago? I know they try to have a presence in most southern markets.

They recently updated the North Augusta store last year.
Belk re-opening held Oct. 10 | North Augusta Today

Belk was supposed to close down the North Augusta location, and move the store into the Village at Riverwatch before the recession hit.

Default New Stores & Moving Stores

Heres an update on new stores, closing stores and moving stores in the Augusta Mall. I'll start with the moving stores, Sports Fan Attic is moving and has closed to make way for House of Hoops. Pink & Blue, a local store, is relocating beside the Apple Store on the Promenade. The old Body Central, which moved beside Express, will be an expansion of Victoria Secret (Pink Store). The current Pink & Blue, although the deal is still being worked on, will be the new location of Finish Line. The current Finish Line, former HallMark, Know Stlye, Oriental Acupuncture and the old Wendy's will be the site of H&M (Construction will start in October). CCS is closing and the final day was yesterday. The Childrens Place has started renovations and should be closed for approximately 30 days. Also we still have a huge name still in the works and should have a final answer in a couple weeks, possibly days.
