But, no.
Vancouver is north of Seattle and most of us know Seattle is like the city cloaked in clouds and rainfall most of the year. I'm sure Vancounver isn't all that different. And yes, it does snow there. Don't kid urselfves. Australia offers a more sunshine, more outdoor pusuits on it's beaches and parks, temperate and warm temperatures, etc.

Australia wins.
Canada is nice and all, but if I had to choose. Australia would win in a heart beat
Sydney actually gets more precipitation than Seattle, but slightly less than Vancouver.

Also the rain doesn't fall in Vancouver most of the year. Summers can be quite dry. This summer especially has seen very little rain.

As for snow in Vancouver proper, no. Worse case scenario is a week of snow hanging around on the ground after a big storm. One week. Most winters see little or no snow. It's stays on the mountains across the harbour where we ski.

As for outdoor pursuits, you are totally forgetting winter sports. People in Canada embrace winter and go skiing, snow shoeing, ice skating etc. Quebec even has a fantastic winter festival called.

That doesn't surprise me. Sometimes it can rain for days on end here.

Of course it depends on rain patterns. Vancouver gets more " rain days " than Sydney even though the amount of precipitation is closer than most would believe.

We call it misting, which can last for a couple of weeks sometimes.

So does everyone in Vancouver look like they stayed in the tub too long for a couple weeks?
