Kicking it with two feet certainly would put it on its way to breaking or coming out of the tracks. Didn't look like the old man struggled to break the other window at all

Do other cars have this safety release? How would you find out if your car had one, and where it is??
I would assume only cars that don't have a mechanical handle on the door would have an emergency backup. Check your owners manual to find out if your car has one.
He must not have had a cell phone or he could've called 911 or AAA.
