His dog died as well.

Man, Dog Die After Getting Trapped Inside Hot Corvette « CBS Houston

The article has very little information and I don't know why he didn't just start up the car and turn on the AC. People have come to rely on the electronics to always work but it's probably a good idea to know how to manually unlock your doors just in case.

Battery was dead? Sad that he didn't know about the manual door release on the floor, or just remove the targa top.

They were found 4 hours later? You mean he didn't bang on the windows to get someone's attention in a Waffle House parking lot? Strange and sad.

@72 years old, I doubt he had the stregenth for that. Jus one more reason to keep a center punch or safety hammer in the glove box

Turning in your sit and kicking ain't all that hard, if he could get in and out of a vette he could pull that off

No, but getting enough force to break the window may be a problem for a person of that age. Tempered glass is not easy to break
