I don’t have a attitude but you think just because you have a problem with them that they should be illegal, sorry but it’s not against the law. These vehicles have just as much right to be on the road as you do, and if you want to install a light bar than it’s your right to do so also. So what it doesn’t serve a purpose what about those fake eyelashes on a VW Beetle what purpose do they serve. The person likes to dress their pickup up he has every right to do so.

The fake eyelashes don't endanger anyone. Try driving home tonight with someone shining a penlight into your eyes, you might feel differently. No one has the right to blind people, sorry.

People like the comfort of their home in their cars. Only Europeans/Asians, etc could deal with compact cars and being "crunched" in.

They are when it comes to making and selling pickups Toyota pickups can’t match the 350 or the 350 series pickups that Detroit builds and the Honda Ridgeline is a joke it’s not even a pickup it’s a unibody SUV. And Toyota and Honda know this that’s why the let Detroit have the full-size pickup market.

There's a lot of truth to this. Americans have always preferred large, cushy vehicles. As passenger-cars downsized in the 1980s, the buying-public moved to truck-based vehicles. This trend may somewhat be influenced by gas-prices, but only somewhat; culture trumps economics.

I don’t like them because they’re hard to see around.

But what I can’t figure out is why in today’s world they still suck a$$ in mpg’s? One would think that if MPG’s are a major hurdle for a potential buyer, that this segment would be front and center for the hybrid platform while not making look like a hybrid. Just doesn’t seem to be major priority I guess.

There is a billion dollar after market for SUVs and pickups and they don’t need permission from small vehicle drivers to do what they want to their pickups. Write your congressional leaders and express your anger and see what they say.
While it’s not illegal to install a light bar it is illegal to use them on public roads.
