Starting July 1st you'll have to under go an instant background check when you purchase ammo in the state of California.

Since we all know criminals obey the law, and more gun laws make us safer (like Chicago), I'm predicting California will be crime free by Labor Day.

since CA already checks for restricted or banned agriculture at its border, expect ammo to be added to the list.
my prediction is that CA will issue a tax stamp (like smokes and booze) for ammo.

So they are going to ask you if you have ammo and you say no. Or you say yes and it's up to them to prove where you bought it.

This is a toothless stupid law. If someone has a big purchase you drive in on a road with no inspection. That and reloading makes this law even more stupid.

Wait until the state starts denying you 9mm ammo, "because according to our records you don't own a 9mm pistol. Is there anything you want to tell us?"

As soon as I caught wind of this stupidity I started keeping range brass. A LOT of it. Buy everything with cash

We'll see how far these idiots want to pursue this. Ban powder, projectiles, primers and brass. I'll make a killing on the black market.

I have been stocking up and have a lot. I think you have to spend $50 to get a card that allows you to buy ammo, I'll be dammed if I'm going to do that so they have succeeded in taking my 2nd amendment right away from me.

As much as I disagree with ysr, I agree on this topic. Stupid law. I plan to have several 1000 rounds at home by the end of the month. As a side note I’ve had four background checks in the last two years. All for good reasons including my new Glock and being a volunteer at sensitive agencies. What’s one more?
