Yes, I have rejected "it", the bible (as being inerrant and as being written by God), but I have not rejected God's word. They are not the same thing. God's holy spirit speaking directly to my heart and soul is God's word. I have not rejected God's word.
What has the Spirit told/taught you that is contrary to the written Word?
A person can be inspired by God's power to become a doctor. But just because he recieves the inspiration from God doesn't mean he is perfect in the endeavor.
The Bible does have God's truth in it, but that truth is also filtered through the mindset of the people during that time. Their mindset was influenced by pagan ideas of who God was. They still had a relationship with the true God, but just like with all of us our view of God is distorted by the imperfect examples that surround us.

Well said, Solich.

That the heinous acts and motives attributed to God in the OT are the fabrications of ignorance and superstition . . . not truth. Christ revealed the TRUE NATURE and motives of God unambiguously through His teaching, life, death and rebirth as Spirit.

From Christ . . . He continues to guide us as the Living Word of God through His Holy Spirit (Comforter) within our consciousness. THAT is what we are supposed to have faith in Christ about . . . that He was reborn as Spirit and abides with us to guide us to what God has "written in our hearts" so we need not any man to teach us.

We can learn ABOUT Christ from the God-inspired (not infallibly dictated or inerrant) scriptures and ABOUT His teachings from the NT. But the way to know Him is by listening to the Holy Spirit within as it guides us to what God has "written in our hearts." Do not rationalize away the true sense of right and wrong that is within you in favor of the "precepts and doctrines of men." We recognize evil and good when we see it . . . no need to rationalize evil into good to conform with the ignorant beliefs about God of our ancestors.

Its a lot less about what I have been taught that is contrary to the bible and a lot more about the direction in my life that are given which fully align with leading a life that follows the example Jesus gave us.

(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.)
God bless you Jimmie
