God is never described as hate. He is described as love and He loves us. He loves us so much that He gave His Son for us before we were even born and when we were yet sinners. This tells you how much He "hates" us, Warden.
God bless.

Reason: off topic
Hi Twin, I posted to clarify some misunderstandings about Christian Universalism. If you will read the end of my post, you will see that I brought it back to the original topic of the thread. The conversation on the thread was already on UR and you participated in it. God bless.
This conversation turned about Universalism was of your doing ... and intent
#240 is your appearance in this
#240 is where it was thrown out as bait ...
#241 Vizio picked up on it
#245 Finn described it as:
According to the local universalists you believe in a god of hate, aka a hateful god.
and from then on you made sure that Universalism was directly the focus, somehow referred \ implied about.
This "I brought it back to the original topic" is obvious why you do.
-------------------------------------------------
So what Finn said earlier was correct, when a statement like "God is never described as hate" ... is typical manipulation of words to put it nicely.
None of these describe God as hate but that doesn't change that he hates.
Deuteronomy 12:31 You must not worship the Lord your God in their way, because in worshiping their gods,
they do all kinds of detestable things the Lord hates.
Psalm 5:5 The arrogant cannot stand in your presence. You hate all who do wrong;
Psalm 11:5 The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, he hates with a passion.
Proverbs 6:16 ESV There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:
Isaiah 61:8 “For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing."
Hosea 9:15 “Because of all their wickedness in Gilgal, I hated them there.
Because of their sinful deeds, I will drive them out of my house. I will no longer love them; all their leaders are rebellious."
Revelation 2:6
But you have this in your favor:
You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

Yet...the scripture tells us that he hates. Weird, huh? We've got 50 pages of people denying the fact of what scripture PLAINLY says.
Honestly...if I said water was wet I'd probably have 40 pages of people telling me I was nuts.

Don't be coy, Vizio. You know that the scriptures were interpreted and recorded in ignorance. There are still people today who apparently do not have a clue what the emotion of hate is and how it occurs in humans. They also seem not to want to know and would rather continue to believe that God has this and other human psychological weakness. Those of us who know the source of these human weakness know that God does not have them. Our God is not weak.

I guess you did not read what I posted, Vizio. God is never described as hate. He is described as love. Can you please post a scripture that says that God is hate? I will be waiting. Again, "hate" as presented in the scriptures can mean, according to Biblical language, "opposition". Thanks and God bless.

Quote:
I believe that God "hates", or is opposed to sin, even the sinner, but in
this way. He hates the sinner, the fleshly man in us, so much that He destroys
the old man, the sinner, so that we can be set free from its slavery. Sin only
destroys, the sinner is in bondage to sin, that which destroys us. God sees
beyond what we are, and will destroy that which destroys us, because of His
great love for us, and this being in His design of things anyway. Those who
are in Christ, are a new creation, and are not to live according to the flesh,
that part which is opposed to God. We are being transformed into His image, and
His image is not about sin. We can hate what a person has become and still love
the person, and do whatever it takes to bring about change. God bless and
peace.
What does this have to do with Universalism? I did not bait anyone. I shared that "hate" can mean opposition and that God is opposed to sin. If you were that concerned, Twin, that this was a bait for Universalism, then you should have said something then. Was I not supposed to respond to Finn's post about Universalists? God bless.

we will all stand before the judgments seat and have to answer for the things we tell others. I would rather stand before God and tell Him I told sinners that you loved them, others obviously will stand before God and tell Him, I told sinners that you hated them.
The gospel of the good news is hate for all sinners

Why does your God need to be told anything?
