First of all, If anything most scholars your reading likely have a pre-bias because of their Christian upbringing, church denomination/institution they are being paid by, or "what they think is best for society," but I think its more a laziness issue since I've read many scholars arguments about it that don't even address the things I've mentioned (not to mention many more arguments I've heard on this topic). Oh btw, in Greek, por-no means male prostitute and por-ne means female prostitute...so what do you think por-neia would mean? ;p (sorry about the added hyphens but I don't like spelling a certain word on this computer, lol)

There is a huge difference as Adultery carried a lawful death sentence and the other did not (or any sentence at all in the Torah for that matter). Again, only cultic prostitution was directly condemned by law in the Torah. Regular prostitution was arguably condemned in the new testament but the context makes that debateable as well.
Lastly, the law being written on hearts can be a relative thing as Paul proved when discussing ones "conscience" in eating meat sacrificed to idols. Neither you nor your denomination has a monopoly on understanding the law. Also, before you bring up Jesus' words on coveting, you should realize that he is referring to coveting someone elses wife (Tyndales bible also translated it this way) rather than just any woman, given that the context is adultery and the Greek word for woman is the same for wife...so yeah I suppose I kinda agree the Messianic Jewish perspective on the sermon on the mount even though I'm not really a Messianic Jew. Anyways...nice try

Unlike drugs, religion is fertile ground for socially acceptable delusions and psychosis.
