Sacrificing of children - that's what "pass through the fire" refers to. I've got more.
Fire that opens the womb? No, it is not about human sacrifice, although the verse refers to the pagan sacrifices I mention earlier (which God hated)

obviously no answer to his one or commanding Abraham to sacrifice his lad. So called Educated bible believers who talk like they know what they know. Finn Jarber, stick to politics(your passion and first love), you are way more with it with that, than understanding the things of God.

Yeah, no actually it doesn't. That's just an excuse. It says, and means, what it says.

New Living or whatever Bible:
I let them pollute themselves with the very gifts I had given them, and I allowed them to give their firstborn children as offerings to their gods—so I might devastate them and remind them that I alone am the LORD.
Your god was ticked off because the Israelites didn't keep the sabbath, so he had a hizzy fit and "let them sacrifice" their first born. Yahweh (or was it still El at that point, I get so confused), had it in his power, didn't he, to safe those children.

But, nooooo, the blood thirsty magical overlord would have none of that. He liked killing first born. As in Egypt, remember? Heck, he even has his own son blood sacrificed on a stick to quench his twisted ways.

What a guy!

It refers to sacrifices made to other 'gods' aka 'their gods', which was a practice God forbid and hated.

The Bible teaches He forbade it because he hated it, so why do you claim that He:

1. Liked it
2. He did the killing

I don't have more to say about this since it has nothing to do with the topic, and since its clear you'll say anything to make God look like the bad guy. There are many posters like you who come there to condemn God.

This is nothing new in Africa. Genocides have occurred for decades. Nearly 800,000 people died in 1994 during the Ruwandan genocide. Yugoslavia got more attention from the UN for the committed around the same time. Ten million people were murdered in Africa in the 20th century. It's just the Christians turn this time around. It's a brutal country.
The good news, if you can see it that way, is that we have a strong military presence in Africa, and that started under Clinton. China also has a military base and 700 troops in South Sudan. Africa has a rising consumer market, and it's all about the coin. What's a few genocides and murders if the money is right? You know, like Khashoggi from the "enemy of the people" WaPo. Crickets.

Which is why the whole pretending-to-be-dead-for-a-couple-of-days thing makes his "sacrifice" a farce.

Jesus died and came back to life----Resurrection. Would be good if you took a bible course or two sometime.

So Jesus played hide and seek for three days. Big Whoop. What does that do if he's been around for an eternity. That's not even a blink of an eye, is it.

Well, maybe it was three days. Which gospel do you base this on? If YOU have read your bible, you would know the gospels are not consistent on this. You know that, right? Well, do you?
