Christianity is syncretistic in nature, as it has adopted various beliefs from a variety of cultures.

Sure it is, but that is the nature of generational things, mixing together those things of the father/mother and the offspring that develops has traits/genes from both

The diversification was meant to happen, hence the allegories of scattering the seed, Christianity was not supposed to stay in one area, it was meant to proliferate and multiply (within boundaries)

If anyone obeys Acts 2:38, they shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost;

even an unction from the holy one;

And because of that unction they will "know all things" (1 John 2:20).

If one must be water baptized to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, how did this happen?

Acts 10:45-48,

"And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days."

A person may be sealed with the Holy Ghost simply because of faith (Ephesians 1:13-14).

However, the Holy Ghost is absolutely promised to those who receive baptism in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth for the remission of sins.

So, it is more a matter of resolving doubt than anything else.

No, what you have done is what many have done, misunderstood Acts 2:38.

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

This is how it should have been interpreted by the translators.

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ because of the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

You know as well as I justbyfaith, that man is justified before God when he repents.

When Peter said, "Repent" then you are baptized in the name of Jesus because your sins were forgiven at "Repent."

It's a misinterpretation by the translators! It should be translated “because of” or “in view of,” and not “in order to,” or “for the purpose of.”

Then why not be honest and stop calling it CHRISTianity and call it what it is, BIBLEianity. To believe in Christ you must believe in CHRIST as the Word of God, NOT the Bible. Jesus reveals who God IS, the Bible does NOT!

My goodness, what a mess we have here! No explaining will do though.

Afraid I disagree with you there. For I believe that the kjv is infallible as concerning doctrine; and that therefore it translated it correctly when it said "for the remission of sins".

Besides, even if you do change that part of the verse, it does not change the fact that the Holy Ghost is absolutely promised to those who receive baptism in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth for the remission of sins.

Because the holy scriptures, Jesus said, are "they which testify of me." (John 5:39-40).
