When you consider this question for your children, consider it for children of the world.
So many homosexual adolescents and adults are made to feel that the innate desires within the core of their being are unworthy due to the judgment of the "sin" that has become so prevalent in our society. You cannot separate the sexual desire of an individual from that individual anymore than you can separate love for your significant other from that individual.
I am sorry but we cannot be expected to accept sin because it is so prevalent in our society. You can seperate your sexual desire from yourself, if not then men would be screwing everything that gave them a positive look and there would be no monogomy. I understand that our society is so saturated with sexual overtones that it encourages promiscuity and immorality, but we must resist sin.

Like has been pointed out before, love is something you work on and not some emotional feeling, yes is can lead to or start with the emotional feelings, but true love is worked on mutually by both parties.

I often hear how people say that one gets gay because it's natural, something of a birth trait.
Biologically, since humans are mammals, I would be at least be somewhat convinced if I find homosexual behavior in other mammals, say the duck-billed platypus. Someone help me find a non-straight duck-billed platypus
As noted above, science has tons of evidence of homosexual behavior in mammals. My dog humping other dogs of the same sex included.
Didn't you ever know young children who you knew were gay? This is not something conditioned into people - at least not most.
It is popular to believe that homosexuality is emerging as a "trend" because of popular culture, but homosexuals have been present in every known civilization throughout history. Some embraced them, others despised them. But this is not a new fad. Perhaps the only thing new is that people are not hiding it as much anymore in our particular society.
Please. Find something important to care about like poverty or war or the genocide in Darfur. Leave people alone.
