Why a new stadium in the first place? FedEx Field is just fine. A stadium built in the 90's is certainly not old or out of date. What a waste.

And this:

Uses include:
-Beach
-Moat full of water surrounding stadium for surfing, kayaking, and swimming
-Concert Pavilion Built into Stadium Wall
-Ice in winter for hockey, ice skating etc.
-Rock Climbing on Stadium Wall
so much extra unnecessary cosmetic ish....I like the design but all that other stuff is worthless.

Supposedly to out do the Cowboys. I don't think this does, or is better than the other new stadiums.

Does DC really need a wave pool? Is anybody really using that during the off season?

Fed Ex field is an ugly boring erector set stadium. They easily have the worse stadium in the division. That said, that proposal would keep them 4th in the division as well lol.

yeah, compared to other cities, like ATL, MIN, L.A. who are getting new stadiums, this isn't really cutting it. However, that won't matter if the 'skins win!

Amtrak and SEPTA announced a little part of the remodeling of 30th Street station:

http://www.bizjournals.com/philadelp...concourse.html

Quote:
A partnership that includes Amtrak and SEPTA is working to develop an underground concourse to link 30th Street Station and SEPTA's subway and trolley station across the street. (See renderings.)
The 30th Street Station is the third-busiest Amtrak station in the United States with direct connections to a number of modes of transportation, but "the modes do not clearly connect, creating a confusing and sometimes precarious experience for visitors," according to a draft of a 30th Street Station District Plan, which on Wednesday will be shown at an open house at the station for public feedback.

As far as American cities go Philadelphia has the greatest potential . There are 30 million people with in < 2hr drive from Philly which gives Philly a great logistical advantage over other cities in the N.E. along with a deep water port and one of the best cargo rail systems in the country . With 100 trillion FT^3 natural gas from the Marcellus Shale making Philly a energy hub , Europe is already buying the gas from energy companies in Philly . Higher education , over 90 colleges and universities and 460,000 college students, four designated national cancer institute research centers in the city limits and a growing Pharma industry . A very diversified economy and steady growth to a bright future
