Ok. Last thread rolled off the rails and off topic. I added new cities!

Vegas, NOLA, San Francisco, Chicago, Montreal, Orlando, Honolulu, and Miami best city for tourists? Culture, nightlife, history, museums, scenery, food, etc

I live in San Francisco so naturally I wont pick my city for me to visit. My #1 is Chicago.

Las Vegas is the first of its kind and still holds the title.

There is a reason the best nightclubs, stores, entertainers, casinos, and hotels in the States are in LV. The Strip is 100% for tourists.

They came to LV and built replicas of architecture from Egypt, Paris, NYC, London. They ain't building pyramids in the others. LV is fun from the moment you land at the airport, slot machines there to the moment you leave.

This is extraordinarily tough.. The one's least appealing to me are Vegas (tacky to me - fun but tacky), Orlando, Honolulu and Miami. To me - they're worth a visit but aren't as endearing as the rest.

What's left is S.F, NOLA, Chicago and Montreal. Each of them have something unique and interesting the other doesn't - even in terms of the criteria listed by the OP. Something tells me the most fun to be had for an adult would actually be found in Montreal.. Great nightlife, euro feel, French Canadian culture and food and a laid back sexy place (If you don't understand what I mean by this you haven't been to or really experienced Montreal). Old Montreal is fantastic. Chicago - I love skyscrapers and a city with such a great cross section of skyscraper representation over the last 120 years is tough to beat by any city in the world save for NYC - plus i'm soooo in love with the Art Museum I wanna steal it for my own city. Nola so much character and pound for pound makes a strong case for a city of only 1.3 million... Fun place, good architecture and character and also love the food and surrounding geography - bayou's etc and I admire the people for their resolve.. S.F though is my overall pick based on ticking off the boxes in the OP's criteria and it is a simply beautiful place within a few hours drive of extraordinary places - Napa/Sonoma/Yosemite etc.. Few places and such close environs do everything as well as S.F.

Wow, so many great options! I already live in New Orleans so for me it comes down to Montreal or Honolulu. I voted Honolulu for my preference towards warmer weather, exotic scenery[beaches, mountains/volcanoes, etc] and beautiful curvy Hawaiian women.

SF, Chicago and Montreal are the best urban experiences in that lot and I adore Hawaii but I voted for Vegas as I go there quite often.

Chicago is the most well-rounded, but I feel it offers less in terms of a unique experience as the others...it's only a must-see for those who can't make it to NYC, which is the real deal.

The others, it really depends on what you're looking for. For culture, SF, Montreal and New Orleans. For a more family type vacation Orlando, for beaches and sun Honolulu or Miami, Vegas if you want to be entertained.

Montreal, Vegas, Miami, Chicago and San Francisco are amazing! I recommend them to international tourists. They are equal to me, I can't say anything bad about them.

I can see the appeal of Orlando, but I do not have any mini me's as of right now.

I consider Honolulu overrated. I can get the same natural beauty in Europe and then hop the transit to my next world class city.

Yuck, New Orleans. They do not deserve to be in the poll, nothing appealing about it.
