The great conundrum of LA. People can't see what not in front of them...Especially on vacation

LA may be the hardest city as a visitor to get to know, I was unimpressed with my first few visits but like more and more with every visit

I really liked LA when I first visited last year. But I only saw parts of the West Side and some of South/South Central LA. I want to explore more of the region when I return

LA has more depth than people care to realize. If you went to Hollywood and found yourself disappointed, then you set yourself up with failure.

I went to LA for the first time last summer, and I loved it. Staying in centrally located/incredibly charming Santa Monica helped, as did having a 10-year resident friend who gave me an insider's perspective on the best attractions (and perhaps even more importantly, detailed instructions on what routes to avoid/when to avoid them ).
