Assuming I'm a gazillionaire, I'll take Monterey as the natural beauty can't be beat and it's not as inundated by...never mind.
Lynn, Massachusetts or Lynwood, California?
Admittedly this is only based on one, first impression of driving through Lynwood three years ago from the airport to Anaheim, and exiting for a quick meal and getting lost trying to get back onto the 105, but Lynn has to be better.

Newport Beach, CA or Amelia Island, FL?
LOL, Lynn has a really crappy reputation in Massachusetts as well.
I'll take Newport Beach. I love the waves and sunsets of SoCal beaches.

Jekyll Island, GA or Hilton Head Island, SC?
Ack! I'll take this one! In opposition to a post a few back, I'd take the Brunswick area over Hilton Head any day. Hilton Head has some marginally affordable areas but has no diversity (I don't really mean race though there's that too) and can be pretty snooty and mostly retired or rich vacation owners. I lived on St Simons for a short time in the late nineties and loved going down to Jekyll to enjoy undeveloped beaches and then to hang out at the Jekyll Island Club for drinks and dinner. I'm not a big fan of the water park being there but my kids would probably disagree lol. I would move back to the area between Glynnco and St Mary's in a heartbeat if my wife would ever agree which she won't.

This is a great matchup. Both are idyllic towns in beautiful settings. As much as I love the UP, I have to go with Sewanee. I'm just more at home in the South, and the year-round climate of TN is much more preferable to MI. If I could spend summers in Houghton though, I'd be a happy camper.
Since it's fall and the inevitable pumpkin pie vs pecan pie debates will begin soon, would you rather live in the self-proclaimed Pumpkin Capital of the World or the self-proclaimed Pecan Capital of the World?
Morton, Illinois (pumpkin) or San Saba, Texas (pecan)?
Loved both but I'll take Sewanee for the moderate temps.
Which one: Cody, Wyo or Pueblo, Colo
Pueblo. Larger, more to do.
Hickory, NC or Lima, OH?
