Atlanta, since the cost of living is still lower there. And while Atlanta's traffic is bad, the traffic near DC is worser.

Oh what the heck, I'll compare these 2, since some allege these 2 cities are trying to make a comeback. And I always hear mixed things, about what living is like in either city: Newark, NJ, or Oakland, CA?

Oakland over Newark. Oakland is growing and gentrifying. Oakland has more art and more unique vibe.

Little Rock, AR or Harrisburg, PA?

Probably Little Rock since I'm much more familiar with Arkansas than I am with Pennsylvania.

Missouri City, TX or Kansas City, KS?

Well, given the very common mistake East Coast denizens make about which Kansas City is the core city, maybe that should have been "Missouri City, TX or Kansas City, MO"?

But then again, Missouri City is a satellite city of Houston while Kansas City, KS is junior partner to Kansas City, MO (it's not really a "satellite city" because the two Kansas Cities are close to each other in age [MO: 1838; KS: 1858] and grew pretty much together.)

This, however, should tell you what I think of Kansas City, Kan.: Of these two, Missouri City, Texas.

Leavenworth, Kan., or Leavnworth, Wash.?

Even though I like the WA's scenery better, I'll have to go with the Leavenworth in Kansas right now. I visited this community in 2019, and found a charming, traditional Main Street with lots of charming homes surrounding its downtown. Its just minutes to the beginning of Kansas City employment centers (Leavenworth is basically the northwesternmost suburb of greater KC nowadays), and just half an hour from its airport for lots of travel that can bring me to each coast in just a few hours. The tornado threat may scare me a bit, but at least I wouldn't have to deal with the rough terrain and harsh winters of the PNW, and the COL is much more reasonable as well. Not to mention a two-hour drive to downtown Seattle through mountain passes, even if a part-time WFH, would probably be a bit too much for me, especially with the high gas prices on the west coast.

Sanger, TX vs. Coon Rapids, MN

Sanger. Would rather be close to DFW area and family. Fresno CA or Omaha NB?

I'd pick Omaha over Fresno, myself. For the previous one I'd pick Coon Rapids, as it appears to be bigger vs. Sanger.

Lincoln, NE, or Lawrence, KS?

A lot of people throw Lincoln and Madison in the same boat, deservedly: both cities are comparable in size, and both are their respective states' capitals as well as home to their flagship state universities. And both have equally deserved reputations as cool and pleasant places to live.

But even though Kansas' capital is a half-hour west of Lawrence, the home of its flagship state university (sorry, Wildcat fans) is IMO a good bit cooler than Lincoln. How could a place William S. Burroughs (The Naked Lunch) called home in his later years not be?

Lawrence, Kan., out of this pair.

Charlottesville, Va., or Lawrence, Kan.?

Charlottesville VA. It's in a very scenic area and I would much rather be in Virginia than Kansas.

Stafford VA or Flowery Branch GA?
