They are having the initial voting for coach of the year and in division 2 Coach Wristen is currently in first place.
Here is the standing as of 11:00 am on Wednesday November 16.
1) John Wristen coach at Colorado State University - Pueblo with 4,791 votes.
2) Monte Cater coach at Shepherd with 4551 Votes.
3) Jamey Chadwell coach at North Greenville with 3492 Votes
4) Tim Beck coach at Pittsburgh State with 2731 Votes.
5) Thom Boerman coach at Bentley with 2474 Votes.
More good news for the Pack as the RMAC released its honors.
Here is what the Pack got:
1) Coach Wristen was named coach of the year.
2) Senior linebacker Lee Meisner was named the defensive player of the year.
3) Senior kicker Kyle Major was named special teams player of the year.
4) Tailback J.B. Mathews earned RMAC offensive freshman of the year.
5) CSU-Pueblo dominated the RMAC's first team.
6) 21 CSU-Pueblo players earned all-RMAC distinction this season.
The story from the Chieftain:
The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Wednesday announced its postseason honors in football. As expected, Colorado State University-Pueblo cleaned up.
Since Pueblo has a legitimate chance of winning the division 2 national title in football this year I decided to look back to see what Colorado teams have won and when. This is what I found out.
1) Denver Broncos won back to back championships in 1998 and 1999.
2) The University of Northern Colorado won back to back division 2 titles in 1996 and 1997.
3) CU Boulder won the division 1 title in 1990 with some controversy.
So if Pueblo can win the national title this year they would be the only Colorado football team to have won a national championship this century.
GOOD LUCK PACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to your team, college, and city. It's refreshing to see someone with that kind of passion for their local team that doesn't get a lot of national attention. Reps to you.
Although in time and with enough national championships under their belt (yes I am being optimistic ) I am hoping CSU Pueblo becomes more known, and possibly feared. At least in the division 2 world.

Goals are good my friend! I'll be following them online and root for them. You may have started a Pack following in North Texas.
