Nope. Since childhood in the 70's, I always remember more green in the first half of October, sorry, atleast near the coast.
Being in and out of CT since the late 80s I haven't noticed much difference outside of the anomolies, Snowtober for example, but I was out west then.
Octobers for the most part are usually warm and mild. I gonna guess Indian Summers preclude me, I'm not THAT old.

We started a dry pattern August 23rd. It was a perfect setup. 3 weeks of September was cool. But we just warmed up too much recent 2 weeks.

Sunny Days and Cool nights will help though.

I like that Carotene chemical. And Anthocyanin

Another way to remember it is leaf blowing. I remember leaf blowing in October and ending by mid November. Recent decades I been blowing leaves at the end of November into December some years too.

I got about 35% colors now. 65% still green. NorEaster Wednesday-Thursday so that should knock the ones already changed.
your photos are beautiful - all of them. Thanks for sharing them.

Well since you mentioned it I had THREE selected (I took over 20) and saved them into a separate folder after transferring them to my laptop. I then trashed all the ones that came from my phone, opened the new folder and there was ONE! Apparently I didn't have all 3 selected when I exported to the new folder.

So I decided to go with the one, uploaded it, forgot about the size restriction, back to the editor, re-upload. <WHEW!!>

(yes, if I uploaded more I'd remember the size thing lol)

Clouds suck for pics but great for reality. Colors pop more when its cloudy but in pictures its horrible.

Anyway -

Greenwich. I would say its now 60% Green. 40% changed.

Some spots in Sandy Hook, CT looked like November or winter more with bare trees. That's what a storm will do to our foliage. It can be gone fast!

Also want to note, it was 53° during the day here while 58° in Westport. Much colder here and you can feel it more with the wind.
