There’s also renderings for the new Coliseum development. Don’t love the look, but better than a surface lot.

Not great, but at least it's somewhat distinctive as opposed to the other mid-rise apartment buildings being built in New Haven and other cities in our region. Just the addition of the housing stock will be great for Downtown, and a great use of the lot that right now isn't doing nothing for no-one.

I agree that the design of this building leaves something to be desired but as you say, the parking lot is not much better. It would have been nice if this building was a brighter color and had less expanses of brick/masonry at the corner. Aren’t corner apartments the most desirable? It seems to look like the Brutalistic architecture of the 70’s. Is that coming back? Jay

The courtyard looks pretty nice, at least.

Ground has been broken on a new development on Chapel Street in Wooster Square that will include 230 apartments and 5,600 square feet of retail space. Great news. Jay

Noticed this started recently when I drove by. Long delayed, so it's a great to see.

If you blink, you'll miss another apartment building going up in New Haven it seems.

I drove around YNH recently and was shocked how many apartments have popped up in that area, with more coming.

Despite all the uncertainty that the Covid-19 crisis has brought with the hospitality industry, ground was broken on the 165 room hotel in the iconic Perelli Building on Long Wharf Drive. Great news that they are saving this historic modern structure designed by Marcel Breuer. Jay

They should add a parking garage too.

Why? I'm sure they've done a parking study and have reserved spots. IKEA was part of the plan. The parking lot area to the right of the entrance is barely used for IKEA and pretty large.

That parking lot thats out in front is very small. Maybe 40 or so cars. Ikea does have ample parking in the back which could serve as some type of valet parking to keep people from walking that distance.

Talking about the parking lot to the right of the entrance, not in front of Pirelli building. It's pretty close, would just need a cross walk
