Yes, it is two new residential colleges- Benjamin Franklin and Pauli Murray. They are amazing inside and out. At $250 million, it was the largest private gift to Yale but not to any university ever.

I believe they’re extending the runway for the larger planes. Hope they add more routes.

Right. Yale calls its residence halls “colleges”. It has nothing to do with classrooms or different schools. Basically they are dormitories. And they are stunning to say the least. Jay

I love Bradley. So easy to get in and out of. Traffic is never that bad. There’s tons of parking on and off site. The lines move fast. Such a great way to start and end a vacation. Hopefully New Haven can be the same. Jay

You're not kidding. So many are out pumping money into the CT economy wining, dining and retailing it's unbelievable. It's like a Keystone pipeline of money flowing into New Haven bars and restaurants the food is so good. You walk down Bedford in Stamford, 2 dozen people are breathing down your neck ready to spend like a politician on crack. Bumper to bumper cars and people. You can't catch your breath in New Canaan and Darien centers trying to get space between yourself and hordes of revelers. Don't go anywhere near Washington St in Sono on a friday or saturday unless you want to stand or wait in lines elbow to elbow with dozens, that's just for one place. Good luck finding parking. Forgot your mask? that's ok, no one cares and no ones checking. You thought cats and dogs were bad, It's raining cash and gold cards in CT.

New Haven has more foot traffic than downtown Stamford in my experience and has for a while now.

I remember talking to a guy who owns a quick serve food concept in New Haven, and he said the foot traffic wasn't enough in Stamford, especially after the office workers go home. He chose to expand to Boston instead.

Sadly American Airlines is ending it’s service at Tweed New Haven at the end of the month. Too bad. Jay

Sad but not suprising. I'm pretty sure they had a subsidy to be there because they were the only ones. Now that Avelo runs it would almost be awkward for them to stay.

The Fusco development company has owned the property that they built Long Wharf Maritime Office complex on- since the 80s. Today they announced plans to build 500 apartments in two buildings on the site covering the former Lenny and Joe's restaurant, in between the Maritime center and the new Canal Dock boathouse.

Sorry about the above I meant to post it earlier on this page. But that was announced today for Long Wharf. ... Separately, for Tweed and American Airlines their announcement they are leaving was expected but seems to say more about AA then about Tweed. The last few months the AA flights from New Haven have been over 75% full, good for industry standards. I agree with the above comment, that AA stayed due to the government subsidy. With Avelo starting non-stops to FLA, I won't be surprise if soon another Delta-type carrier starts flying, or if AA resumes when they are on better financial footing. ... Finally there is a Job Fair at Tweed tomorrow for anyone interested- they are hiring 108 workers there in the next few months.
