Honestly I think a garage is a wonderful idea. Its such a huge parking lot - too much wasted space IMO. Add a garage, reduce the surface parking and look at adding additional commercial/restaurant space. Even something as simple as a Starbucks would likely do rather well there. Having a bar and restaurant in the hotel itself is nice, but there is such of dearth of options in the general area so it would make sense to add some more.

City Plan has approved the first building for the New Haven Colosseum site. Nice to see movement on this long awaited project. Jay

What’s going on at Tweed? I just read that all commercial carriers pulled out from servicing the airport. If anything, I was hoping HVN would grow and serve the region in a much greater capacity, since southern CT is well over an hour from the nearest major airport.

This is a shame. American Airlines has ended commercial air service at Tweed New Haven Airport. American was the only airline offering flights from Tweed. Jay

New haven will be fine. I know some people that live in the area are glad . New haven is so close to other major airports it really didn't make too much sense for it to be there and most people I know and when I lived there went ro Bradley or one of NYC Airports due to cheaper cost and less layover/ time in the air.

Remember in some cities you have to drive 45mins or so just to get to the airport thats closer due to traffic. Lax to downtown is only around 20mins but can take 2 hours sometimes. You can drive to Hartford in under an hour with traffic

We will see what happens when this is all done. Maybe it's an opportunity to get a better carrier like Delta in the future.

Maybe the new standard for corporate relocation should be a travel time to airport, not a simple distance measurement.

It can't really expand. It's too much residential around.
