I’m not up to date, is it undergrad or grad?

It's both, but split 1,400 undergrad and 600 something grad supposedly. I think a combination of this and the Hartford Line probably means we're going to see a noticeably different bar scene in downtown Hartford come the end of next year. The college crowd likes to drink (and this is an urban campus) and mass transit means you get to go home a bit tipsy or a lot of tipsy depending on the situation.

It’s got a long way to go before it can be compared to New Haven.

Ok so about 1000 drinking age students. It can’t hurt. Will be interesting to see.

Wow, big news for Hartford. Stanley Black & Decker is opening an advanced manufacturing center in downtown Hartford! The center will be located in Constitution Plaza and employ 50 professionals. Great news and a major commitment to Hartford and the state by one of the country's largest manufacturing companies. Jay

To add to the good news downtown, a major operator of flexible office space has purchased a downtown office building with plans to convert it to flexible offices. This shows another strong commitment to Hartford from outside the state and should add even more workers to downtown and the state's largest employment center. Jay

It will be interesting to see how the CVS deal plays out. It is expensive to move a company, even just the decision makers. There is a chance that Aetna HQ stays put. CVS is reviewing all their HQs.

Connecticut is still a horrible place to do business. But a federal 20% corporate tax takes eases the reasons to run away. It lowers their overall taxes and makes them less of an issue. Just move that tax break to bottom line and eliminate the moving costs, that makes very profitable year.

Best for Hartford, the CEO who wanted to move for ego reasons will no longer be running the company.

Keeping Aetna HQ would be very good for the city.
